In 2007 Nikki SooHoo was facing one of her most challenging auditions to date. In fact, it was a tough time for me too. Two grandmothers had recently died, and my maternal grand aunt, like a mother, also died. Nikki was up for the role of Holly in The Lovely Bones. The film is a supernatural thriller drama directed by Peter Jackson, who co-wrote the screenplay with Fran Walsh and Philippa Boyens. It is based on Alice Sebold's 2002 novel. The film stars Mark Wahlberg, Rachel Weisz, Susan Sarandon, Stanley Tucci, Michael Imperioli, Saoirse Ronan, and Nikki SooHoo. The story is about a murdered girl who watches over her family from the in-between. How her family heals becomes the moving plotline.
